Colleen Spellman, OTD, OTR/L
Assistant Professor
Dr. Spellman is a Nebraska native who earned her doctorate in occupational therapy from Creighton University in 2002. Dr. Spellman has 17 years of "full-time" OT practice experience in many areas including inpatient rehabilitation with an emphasis on spinal cord injury and assistive technology application for children and adults, outpatient pediatric therapy, home health care, skilled nursing care (as a manager and therapist) and in a surgical hospital focused on post-op care of orthopedic procedures. Dr. Spellman has also served as an adjunct professor at the College of Saint Mary’s instructing occupational therapy students on assistive technology. She continues to work at (PRN) to maintain her clinical skills and keep a pulse on practice conditions. This is her third year of full-time academia. She is the mentor of the Creighton Ability Network (CAN) and serves as the Vice President of Skilled Care, Long Term Care and Home Health for the Nebraska Occupational Therapy Association.
