Alex Yang, MD, PhD

Assistant Professor

A native of Savannah, Georgia, Dr. Yang attended Armstrong Atlantic University in his home town, earning degrees in Cheistry and Computer Science.  After completing a Masters Degree in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Yang entered a combined MD PhD program at Lousiana State University in New Orleans. After graduating from LSU, Dr. Yang completed his residency in Neurosurgery at the University of Colorado. Subsequently, Dr. Yang completed the prestigious peripheral nerve fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis, hosted by the eminent Dr. Susan Mackinnon. After completing his training, Dr. Yang joined the Department of Neurological Surgery here a Creighton University where he has special interests in malignant brain tumors and peripheral nerve reconstruction. In his spare time, Dr. Yang is also an avid aviator.
