Katie E. Zander, MSN, APRN, PPCNP-BC

Instructor

Katie joined Creighton as full-time faculty in October, 2021. Prior to joining Creighton full time she worked with the College of Nursing as adjunct faculty since 2017. Katie's passion is in pediatrics. She received her bachelors in 2004 from Clarkson College. She received her MSN from University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2009. She earned her post masters certificate from Creighton University in 2021. She is dual certified as a pediatric primary and acute care nurse practitioner. She has worked as a pediatric nurse practitioner in multiple settings including, leadership, neurosurgery, hospitalist, rehabilitation, and primary care. She enjoys working with students in the university as well as younger students in high school and middle school to inspire the next generation of nurses and nurse practitioners! She is currently working on her DNP here at Creighton.

Great history taking can make the difference in a patient with familial condition, Peutz-Jeghers Syndrome, receiving the correct treatment plan. This presentation will include a case study regarding a complicated intussusception presentation and ultimate Peutz-Jegher Syndrome diagnosis. 2022
