Dentistry Programs

Prepare for a life of excellence in dental care.

The Creighton University School of Dentistry offers programs that prepare students for rewarding lives providing quality care and excellence in the dental profession.

We emphasize evidence-based science and ethical dimensions of dental care, as well as hands-on clinical experience, to promote our students’ competence in clinical techniques and skills. Through a dental education that cultivates a spirit of service, our graduates become exemplars and leaders in dental education, in research, in their practices and in their communities.

Culminating in to a DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) degree, our four-year DDS program offers students the education and clinical experience they need to begin the professional practice of dentistry upon graduation. Under the personalized guidance of Creighton faculty, our students become competent in providing all phases of comprehensive oral health care through a wide range of dental services.

Think Creighton’s DDS program is right for you? We encourage you to find out more about our curriculum and the distinctive clinical opportunities we offer.

Students who have either completed 1) some of their formal dental education in the U.S., or 2) all of their dental education abroad, may be eligible for admission into our space-available advanced standing program.

Students in the program complete selections from the standard Creighton curriculum – generally those studied by our sophomores and juniors – along with special clinical requirements. The program typically takes two years or more and will culminate in to a DDS degree. To be eligible, applicants must have passed National Boards Part 1 and have scored at least 90 on the TOEFL exam to show proficiency in English.

If your applications for admission to dental school have been unsuccessful because of environmental or educational disadvantages, Creighton’s post-baccalaureate program may be able to help you prepare for dental school. The program provides clinical experience and support in applying for dental school and is designed to strengthen your academic abilities in mathematics and science within a small group setting.
