Activities that lead to improved health and well-being are not limited to increasing daily physical activity, improving healthy eating habits, and getting adequate sleep. A movement toward well-being also involves an exploration of personal values, a sense of meaning, and life purpose. This session will connect the many health benefits that come with having clarity on becoming who you are and what you feel called to do in this life. Suggestions will be presented on how to lead clients toward this greater sense of knowing. Additionally, a tool will be presented that clients can use to explore and articulate their own life purpose statement.

Collaborating with patients and clients to discover their “why” can be one of the most impactful strategies for sustainable behavior change. Focusing solely on the end results without making connections to intrinsic motivation factors such as life purpose, values, and meaning can leave some patients and clients without the fulfillment needed to maintain a life-long change. This webinar series will provide guidance and tools to explore these personal factors through accountability, self-monitoring, motivational interviewing, and reflection.
