When health coaches and healthcare providers approach clients with the belief that they possess everything, they need to meet their desired goals, the relationship shifts to a partnership. Once the partnership is established, it’s then the health coach’s job to assist the client in discovering the intrinsic motivation for sustainable behavior change by having an honest conversation about accountability and self-monitoring. This session will provide an overview of the role of accountability and self-monitoring in health coaching and share strategies that can be used to support the client’s health and well-being goals.
Presenter: Vicki Bautista, Ed.D., NBC-HWC

Collaborating with patients and clients to discover their “why” can be one of the most impactful strategies for sustainable behavior change. Focusing solely on the end results without making connections to intrinsic motivation factors such as life purpose, values, and meaning can leave some patients and clients without the fulfillment needed to maintain a life-long change. This webinar series will provide guidance and tools to explore these personal factors through accountability, self-monitoring, motivational interviewing, and reflection.
This CE course is approved by NBHWC. Participants must attend session #1 and #2 for 1 CE hour and session #1, #2, #3, #4 for 2 CE hours.
