Following in the footsteps of generations of Creighton students, the Class of 2023 sought personal improvement with the goal of becoming people for others in a global culture of service and respect. Their four years at Creighton have left them wholly educated and expertly trained, setting the stage for a lifetime of success. From here, all roads lie open.

The 833 undergraduates will join 1,083 recipients of graduate and professional degrees. Here’s a look at some stats from the class:

Commencement facts

The Class of 2023 is among the most remarkable in the 145-year history of Creighton University. Having endured a global pandemic that placed unexpected restrictions on campus life and classroom instruction, its members nonetheless excelled.

The Class of 2023 saw a stellar sports season as the Creighton men’s basketball team advanced for the first time to the Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament, the men’s soccer team survived to the semifinals of the College Cup, the women’s soccer team made it to the semifinals of the BIG EAST tournament, and the volleyball team racked up its ninth consecutive BIG EAST regular-season title and 11th straight NCAA tournament bid.

The Class of 2023 participated in many research activities, while Global Scholars traveled the world, absorbing distant cultures and performing service projects. At home, students affiliated with Creighton’s Schlegel Center for Service and Justice lifted up communities across the country. They completed internships, practicums and more hands-on learning opportunities. They made connections on campus, in the community and beyond. They learned how to make a difference in their fields, and we’re excited to see what they do next.
