Education and Training Required for Grant Applicants

The following education and training courses are required for all research grant applications submitted through Creighton University.

In addition, if applying for a federally funded grant from NIH, NSF, Department of Energy, Department of Defense/Department of War, NASA, or USDA, senior/key personnel listed on a grant are required to complete:

New Federal Award Recipient Meetings

Upon receipt of a new federal grant award, Sponsored Programs Administration staff in conjunction with Accounting Services meet with the Principal Investigator and their administrative support staff to review the following:

  • terms and conditions of the new award
  • roles and responsibilities of the Principal Investigator, Sponsored Programs Administration, and Accounting Services
  • regulatory requirements related to the new award

New Faculty Meetings

Sponsored Programs Administration requests a meeting with all new faculty to obtain information regarding their research interests and to explain the process of submitting a research proposal at Creighton University.  We also provide an introduction to the services Sponsored Programs Administration offers during the preparation of a grant proposal and throughout the life of the grant award. 

New Administrator Meetings

Sponsored Programs Administration requests a meeting with all new department administrators to explain the process of submitting a research proposal at Creighton University.  We also provide an introduction to the services Sponsored Programs Administration offers during the preparation of a grant proposal and throughout the life of the grant award.
