The strength of the Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) community at Creighton and its commitment to each of its six key values are evident in the signature programs held throughout the year.
Dance Marathon is a celebration of a year-long fundraising effort benefiting Children’s Nebraska, a nonprofit children’s hospital in Omaha. The student-run program raises funds annually to support specific hospital initiatives while also supporting a group of Miracle Families, who are local families receiving treatment at Children's. Past initiatives have included the Carolyn Scott Rainbow House and the NICU. Since its inception at Creighton in 2015, Dance Marathon has raised over $500,000.
The fraternity and sorority community partners with the New Student Orientation team to host the annual Lip Sync competition. This fan-favorite event is an opportunity for the fraternity and sorority community to introduce itself to the newest members of the Creighton community while providing an energetic close to Welcome Week!
Fraternity and Sorority Life Week is celebrated each Fall as a week of programming for our FSL community to promote unity, awareness about the community, education, and fellowship. Past activities have included “Around the World with FSL” tabling, pickleball tournaments, food drives, barbeques, and more!
Hazing Prevention Week is a week sponsored by the FSL Standards Board and is designed to provide education and resources to students about hazing and ways to live a safe and healthy life. Nationally held in the last week of September, activities include national speakers, roundtable discussions, and community building activities.
Unity Week is a week of programming at the start of the spring semester to build unity within the community, introduce new members to the FSL community is, and be an outlet for wellness programming. Past activities have included Pie the Presidents, trivia nights, partnerships with Letters of Love, and park cleanups.
