The faculty of Creighton University's Department of Biology are committed to providing an excellent undergraduate biology program encompassing both breadth and depth of biological understanding. We offer foundational and advanced courses across major subdisciplines of biology, with lecture and lab experiences grounded in first principles. The biology degree program at Creighton provides a rigorous preparation for post-graduate education and career plans. Our major reflects the liberal education philosophy of Creighton’s College of Arts and Sciences. Students can expect to gain a knowledge and understanding of a wide range of disciplines within the biological sciences, from molecular and cellular level processes to ecology and evolutionary biology. In addition, a wide range of upper-level courses provides the opportunity to focus on areas of interest. Students may also participate in independent research in collaboration with faculty members, as early as their freshman year.
