Hematology and Oncology

The Hematology/Oncology Division provides inpatient and outpatient care for all types of hematological and oncological diseases. Physicians provide care at Creighton University Medical Center, the Omaha VA Medical Center, and CHI - Dundee Clinic.

Treatment services include chemotherapy, biotherapy, iron infusions, IV antibiotics and IV hydration. The Division also works closely with Preventive Medicine in helping to identify those patients with possible genetic components associated with their disease.  Coordinated care with the CUMC Bloodless Program is also available for interested patients.

An extensive library of disease and treatment specific literature is available to all patients.  In addition to meeting the physical and education needs of the patient, attention to the emotional and spiritual needs are addressed by providing individual counseling and support groups through the Division’s nurse practitioner and CUMC’s pastoral care.

The division continues to concentrate on process improvements such as standardized patient education materials, chemotherapy error prevention, and overall patient outcomes.
