The faculty members of the Division of Rheumatology provide comprehensive evaluation and management of patients with the full spectrum of inflammatory disease ranging from osteoarthritis to the more complex patients with systemic lupus erythematosus and the various vasculitides.

They conduct busy clinics at Creighton University Medical Center – Bergan Mercy daily. Outpatient services are also provided within clinics located at Lakeside Hospital, Immanuel Hospital, West Broadway in Council Bluffs, and Bellevue. In addition to this, they maintain their own inpatient service and provide consultative support to other medical and surgical services at Bergan Mercy and Lakeside Hospital.

In addition to the daily clinics at Bergan Mercy, outreach clinics are held at various locations throughout the month. Rheumatology faculty hold outreach clinics in the Iowa cities, Red Oak and Denison, as well as the Nebraska cities, Columbus and Nebraska City.

The faculty in the Division of Rheumatology are dedicated to the mentorship and training of learners in the department. Residents and medical students rotate within the division during inpatient and outpatient services, which includes hands-on procedure training for joint injections and aspirations. The division faculty participate in additional teaching through core topic lectures and department grand round conferences. In collaboration with the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine, the rheumatology division hosts a monthly CID ILD conference. Additionally, the faculty host a rheumatology interest group to assist with guiding learners who want to further explore the subspecialty.
