Message from the OBGYN Program Director

Welcome! At Creighton University, we are proud of our long tradition of training excellent obstetrician gynecologists. Our residents work with faculty from academic and community backgrounds to create a well-rounded curriculum. Using the Jesuit ideal of cure personalis, our residents learn how to care for the whole person in a variety of settings. We are especially proud of our service to the community through our commitment to One World Health Clinics, a federally qualified health center, where residents and faculty work to navigate health and socioeconomic barriers to provide high-quality healthcare.

As a university-based program, the residents have a central role in medical student education and an outstanding track record for teaching. As a testament to this, obstetric and gynecology is one of the most popular specialty choices among Creighton University medical students. With our clinical partner, CommonSpirit, we strive to provide a robust educational and training experience to prepare our residency graduates to excel in any future clinical practice – fellowship, rural, community and academic settings.

We accept five residents a year which lends to a close, supportive environment where our learners thrive. This also allows us to accommodate interests and cultivate skills on an individual level. We are lucky to have an embedded statistician and a growing research and quality improvement program with partnerships across the university such as Population Health and Public Health.
